In his darkest hour, hope leads him to glory.
Focus and determination are all that Logan Belanger lives by. Brought up single-handedly by his mother, he moves to Columbus, Ohio to begin the next phase of his life as a competitive swimmer with Ohio State University. All that changes when he meets Bree, the troubled young woman who hides a dark secret that has all the possibility of destroying his faith in love.
New friendships are forged and bonds created that send his life into a spiral. Not being able to handle the pressures of college life, Logan soon finds himself walking down the dark and lonely path to self destruction–losing those he loves along the way.
Can Logan break the cycle or will his actions be his cross to bear?

I came into
A Cross To Bear without one single idea of what I was getting into - maybe I
expected a story about a college guy who meets a girl and tried to balance
school, swimming and a relationship. The last thing I expected however was a
novel that touched all the subjects you'd never think would be brought up in
one single novel: depression, manipulation, doubt, love and so many others that
I had to wonder just who Julieanne Lynch managed it. It's not the type of novel
that I'll usually gravitate towards, mostly because the subjects discussed hit
much too close to home, but I'm so very happy that I took the chance and did.
The problem
with describing the 'hotness' factor of this book is that I didn't necessarily
find it as important as the whole of the novel - in truth, I didn't pay much
attention to it and concentrated mostly on the personalities and habits of the
characters. Absolutely I found the relationship between Logan and Bree
intriguing, but most of all, the interaction between each different character
is what drew me in. Julieanne Lynch's A Cross To Bear was a different type of
read that I don't regret picking up and I'd be curious to compare it to her
other releases.
