It's not the first time I read a novel by Bella Love-Wins, nor in a collaboration, however it is the first I read from Jay S. Wilder. Where i loved the previous novel i had read - Shared, i was somewhat on the fence with Ex-Cons Times Two. The storyline was interesting, two best friends recently released from jail for different crimes, Hunter and Jake, with the help of Jake's brothers, open a small mechanic shop and meet Katelynn when she drops off her car at their shop. After one date, their attraction for one another is spilled out, only after a disastrous evening, Katelynn starts questioning herself until an even brings them together and finally taking care of the way they feel for one another. The men need to decide if helping Katelynn with the problem that has nothing to do with her is worth everything, even their freedom.
I really did enjoy this novel - i doubt i would have finished the book otherwise, but there were a few inconsistencies that took away some of the enjoyment for me. For example, in one moment, Katelynn's cell phone was in her purse in Jake's car, but the next, she's ignoring a call on it, never having gone but to get it. A few times the names were mixed up - while in Jake's POV, rather than staying with 'I' or 'me', there would be 'Jake' or 'Hunter'. I enjoyed the more intimate interactions between these three and although not the most erotic of menages I've read, I still cheered them on, hoping for a happily ever after.
