i
knew that The Librarian's Vampire Assistant would be entirely different
from any of the previous books that Mimi Jean Pamfiloff has previously
released, mostly because it wasn't linked to any of her series and was
meant as an in between two books.
Sadly,
it wasn't my favorite book from hers - if i didn't know that was a
standalone book, i would be wondering whether or not i missed a previous
instalment since it felt as though there was missing history. It felt a
little bit everywhere - going from one place to another while
introducing so many characters that i struggled to keep up.
Even
with my misgivings, i couldn't get enough of Lula - the 'young' vampire
(although not that young), is incredibly feisty, sassy and so very
sarcastic that she made me laugh more than once even with her many hang
ups. When it comes to Merriam, this woman is a klutz with lots of bad
luck - she was and often is at the wrong place, at the wrong time so i'm
so very happy to know that Michael took it upon himself to keep her
safe.
Even
not amongst my favorites from this author, this book was still
interesting and i honestly look forward to Mimi Jean Pamfiloff's next
release.
