I’m Amethyst Lily Tatum, and up until this point, I’d managed to maintain a fairly low-key life. I’m what you would call a socially unacceptable hot mess. I love Amo Jones' novels. I love stepbrother novels. I also love angsty books. But there was something about the mix of the three that even though i enjoyed it, wasn't amongst my favorite by this author. Don't get me wrong here, i think that this is one book that you have to read at least once, but there was a lot of drama. And i do mean a lot.
Just when you think that these two would get a chance to finally sit back and enjoy one another, something would pop up and tear them apart. Something would come along and make them question whether or not they should be together. While the dynamic between Maddox and Amethyst was undeniably hot and full of chemistry, there was something or someone that didn't want them to be together, and that was frustrating. It just seemed they could never get a damn break.
Even with my frustration, i did like how the story was developed. From one night stand to learning that their parents are married, to maybe even trying to have their own happily ever after. Amo Jones does angst very well, and she does suspense just as even better too. So i can't wait to see what else this author has to offer with her next books.
