There's just something with the beginning of April where there are some amazing books that are coming out. I mean, when you've spent two days in a row refusing to fall asleep (ok, maybe not me, but rather my brain), that has to be the biggest sign that screams 'read me! Read me!' I was not expecting this type of book, a little bit dark, a little funny and a whole lot of hotness, all together in Alpha's Desire. This is only my second collaboration novel that i've read by Renee Rose (but my fourth or fifth overall from her entire library), but it has to be one of my favorites by her so far.
Here's another fine example of how my brain betrayed me and wouldn't let me sleep until i had finished the book. I swear i kept telling myself, alright, just one more chapter and then i'll finish the book tomorrow. Then, after tossing and turning for at least an hour, i sighed in frustration and opened my kindle and finished the book. It was almost 1 in the morning by then. And guess what? Fell right asleep!
This book was interesting. It didn't have the 'standard' mating rituals that i'm used to seeing from werewolf shifters, and it was an interesting one. I liked how no matter how dominant or alpha that Jared was, he was still the kind of man that was vulnerable when it comes to the way that others treat him. For her part, Angelina is quite sassy and has dreams that she fights hard to make come to reality.
I hadn't read any of the previous books from this series before getting my hands on Alpha's Desire, and i can honestly say that it's the kind of book that you don't really need to have done so to understand what's happening. While it didn't give me the chills that tells me i need to start from the beginning to satisfy my curiosity, it was an amazing book. I'll probably still start from the beginning to find out how this book compares to the previous ones.
