I had a nightmare of a childhood surviving the abuse of my father. Though I’ve moved away, his voice still plays in my head, making me doubt myself in everything I do.
Through it all I’ve had one goal: to become a professional beach volleyball player and prove my father wrong.
And it was going so well until I met Dean, a gorgeous lifeguard determined to save me from myself. He’s opening my eyes and shifting my focus, when all I want to do is stay where I am, despite the suffocating silence of my empty apartment.
When everything I thought I knew about my past changes, can I handle loving Dean while still achieving my pro career? Or will I lose it all when my father reappears in my life?
Marika Ray spends her time behind a computer crafting stories, walking the beaches of southern California scoping out the lifeguards, and making healthy food for her kids and husband whether they like it or not. Prior to writing novels, Marika held various jobs in the finance industry, with private start-up companies, and then in health & fitness. Cats may have nine lives, but Marika believes everyone should have nine careers to keep things spicy.
Marika enjoys writing all types of fiction novels, based on what inspires her. Right now she's working on stand-alone romances in the Beach Squad series, all about California lifeguards and their equally fearless women.
