Candy Ever After by Jo Raven
Title: Candy Ever After: Hot Candy #2
Author: Jo Raven
"Candy, why is your bed so big?"
"...to fit my two boyfriends when we snuggle together at night."
Only that's my father asking, staring at the bed in question. Oops.
So yeah. Unruly Jethro and cocky Joel are now officially my boyfriends. My Candy Boys. I moved in with them, and I expected things to be tense, awkward. I was wrong. This feels so right, and, well, hot. These boys are so hot.
But with college starting, Jethro returning to work at the bookshop, and Joel planning to start his own business, everything's shifting. Not to forget the fact that Joel still hasn't confronted his parents about our relationship, that Jethro is still recovering from his dad's brutal attack, and that I feel insecure, well...
Wait a sec. Insecure? Come on, Candy. That's BS. These boys love you.
Yeah, I know. The boys and me, we're solid. However, doubt still lingers. I mean, Joel's parents hate each other. Jethro's dad killed his mom, for chrissakes - and my mom has acquired a sudden interest in sex toys and escort services.
So I wonder if true love really exists. Love that doesn't fade over time. You know, the kind that withstands nightmares and bad jokes, unwashed dishes in the sink, and lack of lube. Yeah, that happened.
These boys own me. They're sweet, sexy, and caring - but will they break my heart, or is this our happily ever after?
Note: This is not a stand-alone audiobook. It is the epilogue to Candy Boys (Book One). You need to listen to Candy Boys before you listen to Candy Ever After.

So you know how some authors will mention that their series should be read in order for a better reading experience and then so many of us scoff at the warning for all different reasons and figure that they'll grab the book anyways because, well heck, they just have to read the book and now? I'm that kind of person, the one that will sometimes disregard some warnings. However, Jo Raven's Candy Ever After is one of the books where you should read the first in the series since it pretty much starts off where the previous novel ends. Not that I couldn't follow what happened in the second part - much of it I was able to fill in the blanks and the parts that I couldn't, well I felt left out of a really good joke (alright, some weren't funny at all, but you get what I mean, right? )
I won't deny that I'm into a whole menage genre kick and yes, I've become somewhat judgey on what I do and don't like, and what I don't like is when it sounds and feels fake. But Jo Raven made me feel their connection: Candy and her boys Jethro and Joel, are still trying to figure things out between each other and although they love each other, like any relationship, there are still problems. They still needed to find what works for them and fight their own inner demons. What am I doing now that I've finished Candy Ever After? Get my grubby little hands on Candy Boys because filling the blanks only gets me so far and all great series need to be read in its entirety.
