Title: The Hanged Man
Series: Cards of Love
Author: Clarissa Wild
Genre: Dark Romance (novella)
Release Date: October 15, 2018

That’s only a few of the names people call me, and all of them are true.
I did the unforgivable. I killed a man in broad daylight.
I did it for her.
I paid my dues, did my time.
Now I’m out and I want her back, no matter the cost.
She hates me, but that won’t stop me from hunting after her.
I need her to be mine again.
And there’s a secret I have to tell …
But everything has its price.
I’m willing to pay.
Is she?
The Hanged Man is a Standalone Dark Romance from New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Author Clarissa Wild.
Note: This story contains disturbing content that may be offensive to some readers.
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Clarissa
Wild is among one of my favourite authors. I love how her stories are
engaging. How they always have a twist that I never see coming, and
especially, how they push the boundaries of what we consider as ‘normal’
social mannerisms.
The
hanged man was one of those books that really made me question things.
Some were about the story. Others, about the storyline. I wondered who
in the world was Lillian, and Hansons? What is their story? Why in the
world did Lillian sacrifice everything for her daughter and Hansons?
I’ll
admit that the fact I couldn’t pinpoint the who, what, where and why in
the beginning was something that worked against me. But I assure you
that once you get over that ‘little’ hurdle, The Hanged Man is totally
worth it.
So
many twists and turns that I never saw coming nor did I expect and it
only made me want more from this author. For sure, until I can get my
grubby little hands on her next release, I’ll be going back in time to
read her previous books!

Prologue
Lillian
After
It’s finally time.
I grab one of the dull pencils from the tray and a piece of paper from the stack and place it down in front of me. Biting my lip, I stare wistfully at the sheet, wondering what I should write. If I should even write anything.
There are so many things I want to say, so much I have to explain, but none of the words in my head will suffice. She’ll never understand. She’s too innocent to know the truth.
So I opt for something else instead. Something familiar and loving, so she’ll know how much I care.
“Are you gonna start or what?” the woman across the shoddy table says while glaring at me.
I look up from my paper and gaze blankly ahead. “As soon as I know what to write.”
“You don’t get much time, y’know,” she adds, shrugging. “Suit yourself.”
I nod a few times. Advice is best not taken for granted, so I pick up the pencil and rub my lips together.
Dear Daisy,
You’ll probably never read this letter, but I want you to know that at least I tried. I’ve told your auntie Dana to hold onto the letters I send her until I get the chance to hand them to you myself. As much as I want to, I can’t be with you right now. But I promise it won’t be long. I’ll be with you again soon. Before you even know it.
I know you’ll be good. I know you’ll do great out there in the world.
And you know … I will find you again.
Love,
Mommy
Smiling, I read over the words again before my letter and those of all the other women next to me are taken by the guard as she passes us.
They’ll read the contents and decide whether it’s suitable to send.
This is how it always goes … here in prison.
There’s no choice to make, no autonomy whatsoever. Nothing but sleep, eat, work, and wait.
Wait until your time is up.
Until you can see your baby again.
But I knew the consequence when I did what I did. That I’d end up sacrificing precious time I could’ve spent with her. But it was the only choice I could make, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat if I had to.
It’s no one’s fault. Not mine or his.
Circumstances brought me here, and I accept that wholeheartedly.
Love … is what brought me here.
I made the ultimate sacrifice for my little girl.
For a man I couldn’t stop loving even when that same love ripped her away from me.
For both … I’d willingly hang.

Hotel O by Clarissa Wild

Title: Hotel O
Author: Clarissa Wild
Genre: Super Hot Erotic Romance (stand alone)

That’s our motto here at Hotel O.
No strings attached gratification is what we provide. Nothing is off limits.
And all of it stays within these walls.
My job as the organizer of these events requires a personal sacrifice.
Girlfriends are a liability I can’t afford.
So I get my own satisfaction somewhere else.
Online.
Anonymous.
Nothing beyond a one-night stand …
And I’ve found the perfect toy to play with.
A persistent, equally wicked girl that I can’t say no to.
The girl who’s going to make me risk it all.
Welcome to Hotel O … Enjoy your stay.
Author’s Note: Hotel O is complete and utter filthiness. Expect lots of debauchery … with multiple people. Please do not read if you’re easily offended or do not enjoy romances that explore the boundaries of depravity … Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
The one thing that i really like about Clarissa Wild is the fact that this author isn't afraid to really make her books stand out by pushing the limits. I've had the chance to read many of her books and Hotel O was admittedly a subject i was afraid i had read more than once, but as i kept reading along, it was completely different from anything i had read so far.
I truly did enjoy this story. It was sexy, captivating and it was completely unexpected. I don't think i could have ever guessed what would have happened in this book even if i would have tried, and that was the best part of this book. The fact that i couldn't guess what would happen. These characters are doing just about what any person secretly desires - to be able to bring their fantasies to life without fear of judgment, no matter how dark they are.
This is the kind of book that you need to go in with an open mind. To do otherwise is probably taking away from some of the mystery that comes with an event planner for a secret hotel and the girl who is fighting against her strict upbringing. I absolutely can't recommend this book enough because it'll for certain make you open your eyes to the possibilities and i can't wait to find out what else this author will write to surprise her readers.

“On your knees,” he growls.
I do what he says, crawling off his lap as if I’m some kind of pet. A real kitten, sitting right there between his firm, muscular legs while he stares down at me with content in his eyes.
That … and a hint of hunger sparkling in his pupils.
I could stare at those eyes all day long.
Fuck, what is wrong with me?
I’ve only seen him a couple of times, and most of the time, he was an asshole. I can’t fall head over heels with someone like him. Can’t let this be more than a game. Even if it’s a fucking delicious sexual game at that.
And I do like where it’s going when he brings his fingers to his mouth and takes a lick.
“Hmm …”
My whole body electrifies at the sound of his hum and his approval of my taste.
My eyes follow his hand as it trails down his shirt, where I wish he’d pull open the buttons so I could have a peek at those rippling muscles. Instead, he brings it down to his pants … and the rock-hard dick underneath.
He unzips and pulls it out.
My mouth salivates at the sight of his length. Delicious and right in front of me, it’s ready for the taking.
I lean forward, my mouth opening to take him in, but he holds it steady with his hand and says, “Don’t be greedy.”
I pause and inch back. “But I want to—”
He silences me with a finger on his lips and a soft, “Shh,” adding, “It’s my turn now.”

Then he slowly starts to strip. Just the top part of his suit, but one look at his gorgeous body makes me salivate. He throws down his shirt in a corner and stays put in the middle of the room, almost like a challenge.
I can’t stop staring. Can’t stop myself from touching him. My hand on his chest, sliding down his abs, every inch of rippling skin. I love how his chest rises and falls with each breath, getting a little more erratic as my hand goes lower and lower.
Until he tells me otherwise, I continue. I feel like he’s giving me permission while still watching me like a hawk.
I zip him down and lower his pants until his dick bounces up from the elastic band. Its firmness makes me want to lick it.
So I do.
I lower myself to my knees on the floor in front of him and open my mouth.
Taking him into my mouth, I swirl my tongue around his length. It bobs up and down, and a groan escapes his mouth.
Salty pre-cum drips onto my tongue.
Still, the door is not locked.
Anyone could come in at any moment.
Anyone could watch.
The thought alone makes me reach for my panties, and I start rubbing myself.
Judging from how his eyes lower to gaze at what I’m doing, he enjoys it too.
But he’s not pushing me. Not forcing my lips over his shaft. Not holding the back of my head to push me down to his base.
He lets me do what I want. Almost as if he’s curious to see where I’d take it.
I don’t mind showing him how committed I am to pure pleasure.
After all, why else would anyone come to this hotel if not to experience just that?
And since he doesn’t want a relationship, I might as well enjoy all the benefits for as long as they last.
As I suck him off, his dick grows harder and harder. Suddenly, the slider is pushed aside, and two eyes are visible. Someone is watching us.
My clit thumps in response.
I don’t stop licking him. His moans put me in a trance.
Until Declan suddenly pulls out.
With two fingers, he tips up my chin. “Do you want to know why the door isn’t locked?” he asks.
I nod. “So others can watch?”
A devilish grin spreads on his lips. “So others can join.”
