The smell
of blood is a drug. It fuels me. Consumes me.

I am lost.

The Devil stole
me, but I refuse to belong to someone else.

I’m a

Bits and pieces. That’s all I remember.

Flashes and dreams plague my mind, yet I have no idea whether any of it is real. But the more I dream, the more I start to wonder if it’s all part of a puzzle…a puzzle which leads me straight to him.

The man in the suit.

I have no idea what he wants with me. All I know is that with each puzzle piece I manage to put in place, I feel more drawn to him. As if there’s a connection between us I can’t explain.

But there’s a prickle of warning in the back of my mind telling me this is all a dangerous
game filled with lies and deceit—a game which forces me to trust him…
…the man in the suit.

Fueled by coffee and rainy days, shelves of books consuming her home in the Pacific Northwest, and a vivid imagination, Fiona writes about love because she believes the world needs more of it. She could spend eternity lost in a story, taken into someone’s thoughts while she is left lingering there long after the pages have turned. Fiona works to meld themes in the current world and spin them into stories of longing, determination, and hope. Her characters are relatable and relevant, as they battle their own fictional version of existence.

He was lenient, divulging details in an actual conversation, and technically he never threatened my life before our conversation. Unless he was killing me by looking so gorgeous in his pajamas. Liam’s grin returned, his head shaking slightly while he laughed.

“You’re cute, Aideen.” His chuckle was soft. “I like you a lot.”

“Great.” My eyes rolled, mocking him. “Let’s be best friends.”

“That sounds like a wonderful plan, actually. Best friends tell each other secrets, right? They do that sort of stuff?”

I narrowed my eyes, studying Liam suspiciously as he grinned. “Depends on what secrets, I suppose. If you’re about to tell me who you killed last night, I don’t want the burden of that secret. If it’s that you finished you brother’s wine, then you better have kept a bottle for me.”

“That’s what I’m talking about,” he sighed. “You’re too funny for Julian. He’s so tightly wound and overprotective. Want to know a secret?” Liam stood from the kitchen table, my body mindlessly mirroring his posture. His hands fell atop my shoulders while he studied my face, his gaze stopping at my eyes.

“You’re a smart girl, Aideen. Do the research. It will surely tell you more than Julian,” Liam whispered in my ear. He spun away, my shoulders shivering with the loss of touch, and walked toward the kitchen sink while still mumbling something. I couldn’t hear Liam; my mind was distracted by the familiar heightened sense of goose bumps that trailed along my neck.

“What’s going on?” Julian interrupted, his right hand rubbing sleep from his faded eyes. What do I do?

The Preacher’s Daughter by Shelly Morgan

Angelica…
I’ve always been the preacher’s daughter, their perfect little angel.
But I won’t be their angel anymore. It’s time for me to live my own life.
Little did I know I was stepping straight out of my safe dream…into a nightmare.
The only one who can save me now is a man my daddy calls a devil—a criminal with a leather jacket and tattoos.
But he makes my heart beat…makes me feel alive.
No matter how strong he is, though, hell will claim me again.
Torq…
She’s too good to be true—too good for a man like me.
But I knew the first time I saw her, I needed to claim her and make her my own.
There are men evil enough to hurt the innocent, defile the sacred, like my Angel.
Those men must die.
I’ve already saved her once. I’ll gladly go to hell and back to do it again.

I grew up in a small town in Iowa. I have 2 older sisters and amazing parents. Growing up, I was always a daddy’s girl, hanging out with him in the garage, fishing, and building stuff. I loved to play softball and swimming, but reading, telling stories, and writing were my passion, even at a young age. I took a break from writing for a while, but you could always find me with a book in my hand.
I have three children – two boys and a girl. They are my whole world. Even when I’m having the worst day ever, they brighten up my day and make me smile.
A few years ago, there was this story that would always play out in my head and no matter how many times I went through it, from beginning to end, it would never fade. So I decided to put it on paper. I didn’t plan on publishing it, but when it was almost done, a friend asked to read it. She said it was a story that needed to be shared. And that’s what started my writing career.
I love all genres of books, and even though I started with writing MC Romance, I have a whole book of ideas, so you can expect more from me than just MC, though romance is in my blood.
Even though I currently work two jobs, my ultimate dream is to become a full time author. I want to be able to spend my days filling pages with stories. I want to be the reason people find a reason to smile or laugh from lines on a page. Reading a book allows me to live in someone else’s shoes, even if only for a few minutes. It’s a way to leave my life and troubles behind and I want to be help others do that as well.

Maria

I was trapped. There was nothing left of me.
Then he came and wanted to make me his.
He saved me. He gave me a home, a family.
He made sweet love to me.
I was his Angel. He was my everything.
I thought we would live happily ever after,
but there are no happy endings in the mafia life.
I found this out the hard way, as the blood
flowed, red as roses…

Lyov

Angel. The word meant
nothing until I saw her.
I found her in a place worse than hell. She
calls me her savior.
But I didn’t save her. I captured the pretty
angel and made her mine.
Life was perfect. I had everything I wanted.
I was her salvation. She was my redemption.
Until I lost her.
Angels deserve happy endings, but monsters
like me don’t.
My darkness became hers, and our
happily-ever-after became tainted.

Excerpt

“I am a mad
man, Maria. And you tested my patience today,” he hissed, his face coming so
close to mine and I shivered in his hold.
My hand
came up and gripped his wrist, not to dislodge his hold from my throat but to
keep it there. His eyes flared dangerously and I knew I was playing with fire.
“I am
sorry,” I whispered.
“No. I
don’t think you are.”
Shock
coursed through my body at his words and I flinched. The tears made another
appearance. I tried to deny his claim but the look on his face stopped me.
“Stand up,”
he ordered softly. But oh, it was every bit menacing.
My body was
his, my mind was his…and I obeyed instantly. There was no hesitation. His grip
released my throat and I stood up on shaking legs in front of Master.
“You broke
my rules, Maria. The rules are there to protect you and you consciously went
against me. I can’t keep you safe like this.”
My chin
wobbled against the effort to keep my tears at bay. I was ashamed. Embarrassed.
And wanted nothing more than for Lyov to just hold me.
But he was
angry. I’d made him angry.
“You know
what happens when you break one of my rules. You are aware of the
consequences,” he continued in the same harsh, rough voice.
I nodded
silently.
“Your
words,” he demanded. Each word hit me like a harsh lash against my fragile
skin. Lyov was brutal.
“Yes. I am
aware of the consequences, Master.” Maybe…just
maybe that was why I did it.
He stared
me down, his grey eyes icy. “Good. Undress then.”
I went to
quickly do as I was told, gripping my nightgown and starting to pull it over my
head but Lyov’s voice stopped me.
“Slowly,
Maria. Undress slowly for me.”
His words
sent a shiver down my body, all the way to my toes. My thighs clenched. Lyov
sat back lazily and watched me intently. Without taking his eyes off me, he
took a bottle of scotch from the small table beside him and poured some in a
glass.
His head
was cocked to the side as he brought the glass to his lips and sipped slowly. The
darkness in his eyes didn’t disappear. It was still there and more. Intense.
Furious. Dangerous.
There was a
fiery need inside of me. My hands trembled as I brought them up to unbutton my
nightgown. My fingers fumbled with the buttons and Lyov watched me with rapt
attention, an eyebrow raised mockingly.
Finally,
when all six buttons were open, I breathed out a sigh. My hands paused and my
stomach clenched. Slowly, like Lyov wanted me to, I pushed the nightgown down
my shoulders and then my arms before it pooled at my feet.
I was left
with only my bra and panties. The cold air caressed me and goosebumps rose on
my skin. I shivered even though Lyov’s heat was penetrating into my every pore.

He might be a successful professor, but his personal life is nothing short of a mess…

But it only takes a few encounters for him to realize he couldn’t have been more wrong, and the more time he spends with Violet, the more he desires her in a way no professor should desire a student.
Sometimes it’s impossible to walk away, even when there’s so much at stake…
After desperately trying avoid crossing that thin ethical line, Diego and Violet are no longer able to deny the sexual tension between them and risk everything, falling into an all-consuming, passionate relationship. But when outsiders threaten to destroy it all, Diego has no choice but to make a life-altering decision for himself and the woman he is forbidden to love.
As lines between student and professor begin to blur, the consequences might end up destroying them both…

A knock on my office door has me looking up to find Violet standing there. "Come in and please shut the door." She does and then sits down on the other side of my desk. "Ms. Carmichael, I asked you to come meet me to discuss your design. I’d like you to answer me honestly. Who helped you?" There was no reason to beat around the bush.
"What do you mean, who helped me? No one did." I see that familiar spark in her eyes. "Do you really think I’d turn in something that I honestly didn’t do by myself?"
"Well, Ms. Carmichael, people will sometimes do anything to make themselves look good."
Violet pushes herself up until she’s standing and slaps her hands on my desk. "Are you kidding me right now? I did that design all by myself. How dare you accuse me of having someone help me? I’ll show you right now that I did it alone." She grabs her laptop out of her bag and slaps it on my desk.
I watch in stunned silence as she pulls up a program on her laptop and starts tapping away on her
keyboard. She stops and picks it up, coming around to my side, and I watch as she works with a speed that seriously impresses me. It’s very obvious that I’ve made a mistake here. Violet knows what she’s doing and is confident in her work. Before I can stop myself, I reach out and place my hand on her arm to stop her typing.
"Why’d you stop me?" she asks as I stand up. We’re so close we’re almost touching. This close to her, I can see the gold flecks in her eyes.
"I believe you. I’m sorry I thought you had help. Yours was the best I’ve seen in a long time." I warm inside when I watch a touch of pink bloom on her cheeks. "You’re extremely gifted." I feel myself lean toward her and feel her lean toward me. It’s like we’re two magnets, and the pull is intense. I’ve never in my life felt this kind of pull toward someone. If I’m being honest, it freaks me out just a little. Right now I’d give my left nut to be able to mark her, to taste her.
My office phone ringing breaks the spell, and we both lean back. Violet doesn’t say a word—she just stares at me with those hypnotic eyes of hers. The phone stops ringing, but I don’t care.
She finally speaks. "Um…th-thank you for believing me. I should probably go."
Violet’s gone before I can even stop her.
