A Wilder Sisters Novel

A second chance...
A scandal ended the careers of the Wilder Sisters, the chart topping country
rock band. But Lexi Wilder is okay with that, thanks for asking. She's
been on the road since roughly forever, and even if the scandal has followed
her home to Whistle Cove, California, Lexi is going to enjoy the break. After
all, there's quite nothing like the beautiful sandy beaches of Monterey Bay to
calm a woman's soul.
Luke Wyatt never asked to trade fame and fortune for the only woman he's ever
loved.
Now that he's finished a punishing year-long national tour, all bets are off.
He's coming back to his hometown of Whistle Cove for the quiet, the beaches,
the inspiration, and the girl. Not necessarily in that order. There's
pressure from Nashville to deliver more country gold like the #1 song he
co-wrote with Lexi Wilder.
But Lexi
can’t forgive Luke for choosing fame over her…

She
recognized the deep voice, the smooth sound of whiskey if it could speak. Lexi
whipped around to face Luke Wyatt. Her heart hiccupped at the sight of his long
and lean body braced against the side of her cottage. One corner of his mouth
tipped up in a half smile and he studied her with those deep and fathomless
dark eyes.

Her mouth
was dry. Knees? Liquid. “W-what are you doing here?”

She was so
not prepared to deal with this today. With him. “Why would I be mad? You
mean because you wrote an entire album all about our private life? Every
single private and personal thing about us. After everything I’ve been through
with Sabrina. No, why would I be mad about that?”

said, squaring his shoulders. “It’s what songwriters do. We write about our

Play-by-the-rules good girl Emily Parker is finally flying free. Literally. After a broken engagement, she's about to live out her wildest dream: getting her pilot's license. With former Air Force pilot Stone Mcallister teaching her, though, it's not just the altitude making her dizzy….
Once he settles his father's estate, Stone's heading back to the Air Force. When Emily expresses interest in some no-strings fun, he can't resist, but a single kiss proves that a fling won't be enough. As the clock ticks down to his deployment, will he be able to break his own rules for her?

Excerpt
“I’m sorry I asked you out because I’m not ready for you— I mean, I’m not dating anyone. I mean—I made a mistake, asking you out.”
“And you make a lot of them, don’t you?”
Emily seemed to ignore the comment. “The reason I left so quickly on Friday had to do with my sister. Otherwise I might have stayed to see if you were okay. But I thought I should get Molly out of there. She tends to cause trouble wherever she goes.”
“She does?” Stone felt a grin coming on. “From where I stand, you caused the trouble. I wouldn’t have walked outside if it wasn’t for you.”
“And I thank you for doing that, but I didn’t ask you to.” Emily raised her chin.
That put her lips in decidedly much closer territory to his. “No, you didn’t, but you didn’t exactly stop me.” Now he moved till he was only inches away from her, and their gazes locked.
Author Bio
When early onset stage fright crushed dreams of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame status, Heatherly finished her first book in 2012 and sold in 2013. Now the people and voices that occupy her head refuse to leave. She no longer sings unless you count randomly bursting into song to annoy her children (and the dogs).
Her second passion is crime, and Heatherly maintains she could be a detective and a criminal's worst nightmare. She watches Dateline every Friday night, and has solved many local cases, including the case of the Late Teenager and the case of the Missing Keys (recurring).
She lives in northern California with her family, including two beagles, one who can say 'hello' and the other who can feel a pea through several pillows.
