Title: Diversity
Series: Hilltops #3
Author: Faith Starr
Genre: Contemporary, Lite-BDSM, Suspense
Release Date: July 17, 2017

Diversity by Faith StarrMy rating: 4 of 5 stars

I've followed Faith Starr ever since i read her first novel in the Hilltops series - the story about the Hilltops BDSM club and its members is one that piqued my attention to say the least. While i mistook her for another author who wrote self help novels, i can honestly say that there is no mistaking her now as she keeps developing her engaging stores that give you a general idea of what this lifestyle could be.

This time we meet Mitch, brother to Derek and Noah who we've met in the previous books, and Allie, teacher and dancer as well as best friend to Emily who we met in Purity. Since i know what to expect by now from this author, i wasn't disappointed in Diversity. It had exactly what she promised in her first two instalments of the series - drama, angst, action and the added drop of kink when it comes to the club, and what Mitch wants from Allie. It was engaging and i'm curious to find out what else Faith Starr has to offer her readers in her next release.

I’ll be right out. Don’t get into trouble.” He pointed at me for added emphasis before strutting off to another room, leaving me all by my lonesome.
“Me? Never,” I said to myself with a giggle.
I took the opportunity to be nosy and strolled around the apartment, except for the room he went into because I’d almost bet it was his bedroom; therefore, restricted for my own benefit. At least for now.
I found a closed door and paused briefly in front of it. I debated whether to open it or not.
“What the hell?” I asked myself and went for it, pushing it open.
My gut instinct told me he had his own version of the Red Room of Pain, causing me to take a deep breath before flicking on the light, hesitantly peeking inside.
Holy crap, I couldn’t have been more wrong. A huge drum set rested in the middle of the insulated room. Posters of rock bands covered the walls, good bands too, classic Tom Petty, Phil Collins, and Aerosmith.
“I thought I told you not to get into trouble,” his deep voice somewhat reprimanded.
Shit! Shit! Shit!
I swung around, holding my hands up in surrender. “I swear I didn’t touch anything.”
He chuckled and entered the room. “Do you always walk around people’s apartments and open closed doors?”
He stopped in front of me, and my breath picked up speed. He had changed out of his suit, instead sporting gray joggers with an Abercrombie T-shirt. Gosh, he killed me. I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to turn my head away from him, the sight too powerful and glorious for the human eye.
“Not usually, but tonight the notion kind of grabbed me, and I went with it.” I moved away from him, studying the room with my eyes, not my hands.
“Are there any other kinds of notions you have going on in that mind of yours you want to go with?”
I turned to face him. “Wouldn’t you like to know?” I teased, placing my hands on my hips. “So Mitch Dorian plays the drums. That’s fucking hot.” The heat in my words matched my sentiments exactly, my eyes opening wide with desire.
“Really?” He took two steps in my direction. “Do you like drummers?”
“Let me think about it for a minute.” I scratched my head while taking in his drum kit. “Hmm, let me see; you sporting a tank top with those big guns of yours slamming the shit out of these drums? Nah, not interested.” I waved him off with a look of disinterest, my superb acting skills on full display.
“That’s too bad.” He took another two steps my way. “You’d be impressed by what I can do with those sticks.”
I nodded in interest, trying not to reveal too much excitement, when impressed by him and what he could do with those sticks put it mildly. “Perhaps you could show me sometime.”
“Anytime, babe, as long as you promise to dance while I play. You didn’t tell me you were a regular on Dancing with the Stars.”
Aw, he had gone and made me blush. “And you conveniently left out the part about you being a rock god.”
Two small steps forward and now he stood within touching distance, our eyes fixed on one another the entire time.
“Tell me to stop and I will, Allie. All you have to do is say the word.”
I had no coherent thought. There were only three things filling up the space inside my brain—me, him, and him being naked.
“The word,” I mumbled, too dazed and blown away to ask the specifics about the word in question.
“You’re quite the comedian.”
And with that, his lips were on mine.
I always figured Mitch to be the type to come in aggressively, but instead, he came in slow and deliberate, the kiss soft and sweet. I had to remind myself to breathe.
His tongue eased its way inside my mouth without a tinge of hesitation. I certainly wasn’t going to argue.
Yummy, he had the Whole Mouth Clean Listerine taste going on too. Cheater. So unfair.
I reached my hands up, my fingers running through his dirty-blond, wavy hair. And what hair he had! Like hair from an old Pert commercial, whereas in my version it had Mitch pumping in and out of me instead of him jumping up and down on a trampoline with his sexy bouncin’ and behavin’ hair. He could be a walking billboard for commercial products.
I moaned into his mouth, lost in his touch and in my thoughts about him.
He one-upped my gesture by snaking his arms around my back, lowering his hands down to my ass, cupping it so they could get personally acquainted.
Fuck. I hadn’t been touched by a man in months. My body literally begged for more, even though my mind told me to stop. Besides, in all the time Jonathan and I were together, he had never once touched me with the kind of craving and raw passion Mitch possessed. Our kiss was one of longing, almost as if Mitch was the Jack to my Rose, both of us alone with only the great expanse of blue sea out in front of us and warm, salty air filling our lungs.
I moaned again. Where was Celine Dion when I so desperately needed her? That would’ve been the icing on the cake to the fantasy playing in my mind.
I felt a sudden sensation of weightlessness in my head and body, almost dizzying. This man had me delirious, almost disoriented. No man had ever caused such an overwhelming reaction from a simple kiss. My body broke out into a cold sweat.
I pulled myself away from him in a panic, breaking the connection between our tongues. “Oh my God! I think I’m going to be sick! Where’s the bathroom?”

Title: Purity
Series: Hilltops #2
Author: Faith Starr
Genre: Contemporary, Lite-BDSM, Suspense
Release Date: May 29, 2017
Publisher: Loose ID

Derek Dorian likes to party hard in the bedroom. After all, he is a Dom and co-owner of Hilltops, a club catering to those who like to play outside the box sexually.
Emily Jenkins is an assistant editor in the romance department at Dorian Publishing, the company Derek's family founded and owns.
Emily's unlike any woman Derek has ever met or been attracted to. She's pure, almost angelic, and even better, she's never been touched.
Their romance becomes one of teacher and student. Emily is eager and willing to learn everything Derek has to teach her. Derek is willing to show Emily the world, one which includes everlasting love.
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The first book I read by Faith Starr was the first book on this series and even with my "research", I thought I had her figured out. In truth, Destiny was her first and only book (at the time) and even though goadreads showed that she wrote sey help books, it wasn't true-in fact another author with the same name was simply added to her author page (which \ audn't know at the time I had written my review for Destiny). Now, Purity is the second opportunity I've had to read from Faith Starr and I enjoyed it more than I could have ever imagined. She takes two unseemingly and different as can be characters who in any situation wouldn't be seen together and brings them together to make them guest everything they thought they knew.
At first I thought I would hate Derek-mostly because of this habitual type of woman, which seemed as shallow as can be , especially considering thatwhen you go out of what you usually gravitate towards can turn out to be THE one. Then he meets Emily, and my heart skipped a beat.. Or maybe two. I wanted to protect her innocence. Her ways of seeing the arena andespecially her vulnerability. who knew that they'd both surprise mean so many ways? I loved that unexpected factor. That aspect that threw me complete off guard and then pulled me right back in to their journey into finding out what truly matters in their lives. I was captivated and then surprised as Faith Stam brought another couple to life in the BDSM community, all the while making it really quite simple for those who don't know much about the lifestyle (other than what some of the more questionable novels of this genre have been popularized) and what it can actually bring to two individuals and their relationship. I'm looking forward to reading the next Part of - series and exact where this author will bring us as the next journey in the Hilltops series.

Emily
Once again, he and I had the elevator to ourselves. After the door closed, I apologized for the gazillionth time. “I’m so sorry about the scene in the conference room. I didn’t mean for any of that to happen.” The flashback of the experience was just as bad, possibly worse.
“I’m glad it did. You did an excellent job today, Emily,” he raved. “You should be proud of yourself. The passion in your eyes while you shared your thoughts about the manuscript was evident to everyone sitting in the room. I found it absolutely intoxicating to see such desire.” He added his killer smile to his words of praise.
“That’s how I feel about books. I’m passionate about reading, and the fact I can actually be a part of the process from author to bookshelf is incredible. I’m so excited for the opportunity to work with Susan.” Luckily, my nerves had calmed to the point where my hands remained steady while I gently clapped them together in enthusiasm.
“And I’m happy to have you on board.”
I beamed with pride to hear him say such nice things about me.
And with that, the two of us stared at the metal doors in front of us, neither one of us speaking. It was an uncomfortably silence, the air suffocating. Shit, I had forgotten to speak to maintenance about the air situation in the elevators. My bad. Now I had no oxygen to inhale whatsoever, my lungs dying to take their next breath. It could be that the intense chemistry between us had depleted what little air we had left to breathe. It’s too bad the elevator didn’t have emergency oxygen masks like airplanes did. One might’ve been helpful about now.
I tried to think of something good to say, my body too afraid to move. And just when it came up with something, I turned to say it and found myself flush against the wall in the elevator with Derek’s tongue down my throat, my mouth openly giving him access while the rest of me screamed to push him away.
Holy shit!
What we were doing was so wrong, but at the moment I didn’t care, because Derek Dorian wanted me, yes, me. Besides, it was the hottest kiss I had ever experienced, his lips softer than I had imagined. The way his tongue took charge, a bit more domineering than any mine had ever played with. Mind you, I could count on one hand how many there had been. But my tongue loved every second of it.
His body caged mine, our movements desperate, frantic, as if we were long-lost lovers who had finally been reunited. We couldn’t press our bodies closer to one another if we tried, and yet, my mind and body ached for more, needing a deeper connection to him. The throbbing between my thighs became more intense as our kiss progressed, especially when he ground his hardness against me. Fuck my vibrator, I could tell Derek would satisfy me so much better. Screw that, beyond words better.
Shit. I couldn’t allow myself to have an orgasm from a kiss and simple rubbing. If I was being totally honest, suggestive, heat-induced, and mind-blowing better described our actions.
I melted into his touch. I’m talking pure goo, jelly in a jar. I held on to his arms, my legs too weak to keep me upright.
