Boy did i ever get the surprise of my day when i picked up this book. Quite honestly, i was expecting a modern day romance only to realize that i'm following Elizabeth and Cole's story in the wild west during a storm and the dangerous bank robberies that are hitting closer to home than any sheriff would be comfortable with. Considering that what i was expecting and what i read were two completely different things, it took me a bit of time to get my head wrapped around what was going on, but once i did, i enjoyed it. I liked getting to know Cole and Elizabeth a little bit better and finding out more about the Mackenzie family through this author's words.

When Lynn Raye Harris creates a story, i pay attention, no matter the subject because they are so incredibly captivating that all i want to do is spend my time lost in the lives she's created. As part of both the Mackenzie family and Hostile Operations team series, Hot Witness tells the story of Eva Gray looking for revenge against the Brothers of Sin Motorcycle Club after her sister joined, pledged then disappeared without a word. So when Jake Ryan, an ex member of the club, military officer and Hostile Operations Team member, and Declan Mackenzie look into the hospitalization of a judge, the destiny of all three becomes intertwined in ways they never saw coming.
I loved watching the story unfold, how Lynn Raye Harris combined two different storylines to create one story that made me want to read them from the very beginning. To see how the three evolved during their trials, the twists and turns they go through, had me at the edge of my seat and boy do i wish i could have kept going even after the last page. Lynn Raye Harris' ability to create a story that makes you feel all sorts of emotions is on that i continuously look forward to living every time i pick up her books and why i keep following her after all this time.
