Laura Kaye's Ride Rough is the second book in the series, and i had the opportunity to read the first instalment, but this book was... different. In a good way. It felt a little slower, giving you the chance to connect with these two individuals, knowing that they have a history that can't be ignored. They didn't simply fall out of love, weren't betrayed - circumstances, life, grief all played a part in forcing them to seek out what they needed in life - stability, direction and security. It made me understand why some people stay when they're afraid. Why they do the things they do when it seems as though everyone is more than willing to help, no matter what. It's the kind of emotional story that will grip you and make you cheer for Alexa and Maverick, wanting Grant to get what he so rightly deserves. It's the type of book that will make you throw your fist in the air in excitement, screaming 'yes!'. It's a series that i know i'll keep following until the very end just to find out what will happen to the Raven Rider members.

Not being the first novel I've read by Laura Kaye, I was crossing my fingers for another wild ride that would thrill me all the way to the tip of my toes. I'll go so far as to say that she gave a new twist for motorcycle clubs whose moto is to protect those u able to do so for themselves in Ride Hard. For a girl like Haven whose father controlled every aspect of her life down to approving her friends, the last straw came when he tried to marry her off in the hopes of getting more power. With her best friend in tow, Haven ends up on the front steps of the Raven Riders MC and eventually in the arms of Dare, the president.
Ride Hard was a different type of MC - showing the soft side and the MCs that are in it to better the community, it's a side that I haven't had the opportunity to read before and i was truly captivated. It's a story that touched me and i can't wait to be able to meet more of the Raven Rider members and really delve into what his MC has to offer, a story short reading from Laura Kaye.
