Can love heal all wounds,
or do some scars never fade?
After a tragic accident took everything from her, Avery is left broken, struggling to find her place in the world again. Now back home in Mason, Alabama, she goes through the motions, carrying on for the people who love her yet longing for the life she lost.
Her future seems bleak until Reid, a handsome mechanic and ladies’ man, charms his way into her life. Though he screams trouble, he sparks something inside her too tempting to ignore: the desire to live.
Reid is tired of meaningless flings and one-night stands, but after betrayal left him with major trust issues, anything more is beyond his reach.
When Avery, the enticing and mysterious new bartender in town, awakens emotions he never thought possible, Reid has to decide if she’s a chance worth taking or if some risks are better left avoided.
Will love be their second chance,
or will the past consume their future?
Survivor is the second stand-alone novel in the Sweet Home Dixie contemporary romance series.

“Are you sure you don’t have anything better to do?”
He seemed to think about it for half a second. “Nope.” An amused smiled played on his lips. “Eager to get rid of me?”
“No… it’s just…” She looked down at her shoes, suddenly at a loss for words.
He tilted his head. “It’s just, what?”
She shifted her weight uncomfortably as she wrung her hands. Reid watched her, his amusement growing with every second of her silence. She drew in a breath and let the words fly. “All of a sudden it’s like you…” Another deep breath. “You kind of make me nervous.”
“Is that why you’re doing the potty dance?”
Her cheeks warmed and she crossed her arms over her chest, regretting her honesty.
His expression turned darker and he took a step toward her. “Why do I make you nervous, Avery?”
Heat spread down her neck to her chest and all the way to her fingertips. Still, she didn’t step back or look away as he pinned her with his gaze. She swallowed. “You make me… feel things.”
His eyes smoldered with intensity and—hope? “What kinds of things?”
“Real things. Even… dirty things.” Her cheeks warmed further as the words spilled out.
His eyes widened slightly as his breath hitched. He took another step toward her. “So, what’s stopping you?”
“Right now, I’m not entirely sure.” She licked her lips and dropped her gaze to his mouth. Ever since that night in his truck, she’d wondered what it would be like to kiss him, and right now the urge was stronger than ever.
He leaned closer to her, inch by agonizing inch. Though he reached out to touch her cheek, he seemed to think better of it and dropped his hand to his side. He closed his eyes as if searching for strength, his brow creasing.
“You deserve more than I can give you, Avery.” He took two steps back, his expression pained. “You deserve better than someone like me.”
Her heart raced and her senses were on high alert. For some inexplicable reason, Reid made her feel alive, maybe even happy, something she hadn’t experienced in far too long. “But what if you’re exactly what I’m looking for?”

I’m first and foremost a loving (and sometimes nagging) wife and a mom of a beautiful little boy, but when I'm not wrangling my little one, cleaning up messes, or banging my head against the wall, I try to find the time to write and manage my career as an indie author.
Quitting my job and leaving the world of adults was a life-changing decision for our family, and although it came with its own difficulties, I would make the decision again in a heartbeat. Being home with my son was precious, but being the person that I am, I still felt like I needed something more. Writing became the "more" I was looking for and I was pleased to discover that I had at least one book in me. About six months after I set out to write my first book, Mended was completed and I'd discovered a whole new part of myself I didn't know was there.
For me, writing is a way to escape the everyday stresses of life and it creates a welcome challenge on a daily basis. I hope to make a career out of it, but even if I don’t succeed, I can be grateful that I’ve pushed myself to achieve my dream.
The second book in my Sweet Home Dixie series is called Survivor. It’s about a woman named Avery and her struggle to find her way in the world again after experiencing a tragic loss. Authentic characters, real emotions, heartwarming love, and the enticing spark of romance is all a part of this moving story. Survivor is now available on Amazon!
I'm currently working on the third book in my Sweet Home Dixie Series, and I hope to release it sometime next year, though that all depends on how crazy motherhood gets! My Sweet Home Dixie series is made up of standalone contemporary romance novels set in a small, charming town in southern Alabama.
While all of my books have everything a romance novel should—swoon-worthy men, heart pattering attraction, and just the right amount of sizzle—they go beyond the borders of a typical romance. Deep-rooted emotions, realistic and relatable characters full of flaws and personal struggles, and real issues that work against the characters as they try to find their happy endings all play vitals parts in my stories.
I want to show readers that it’s okay not to be perfect and that everyone falls down at some point in their lives. But with love and personal reflection, we can become far better people than we ever thought possible and can often achieve the unimaginable. I hope you enjoy reading!

Survivor by T.M. Smith

Title: Survivor
Author: T.M. Smith
Genre: M/M Romance
Release Date: August 22, 2017
Taylor Langford’s world is torn apart when he is only thirteen years old—his parents killed, leaving him alone and orphaned. With no living relatives, he’d certainly be another statistic if not for the intervention of the policeman who found Taylor in the crawl space where his mother hid him that fateful night. Despite the tragedy and resulting anguish in his life, Taylor knows how lucky he is. Frank Moore is a rookie with the Dallas Police Department when he and his partner answer a call in Devonshire, one of the city’s more affluent neighborhoods. They think the young boy in various pictures throughout the home has been kidnapped until they find him, shaken but alive. Officer Moore recognizes the pain in the kid’s eyes, having lost his own mother to cancer when he was just a boy. He steps in, making sure Taylor is placed with a loving foster family. Over the years, Frank becomes a permanent fixture in Taylor’s life. A decade later, the case remains unsolved and the once gangly, uncertain teenager is now a college graduate who knows exactly what he wants. He’s coming home to the man that helped mold and shape his life, the man he’s loved for as long as he can remember, Frank Moore. But Taylor isn’t the only person returning to Dallas, and while Frank is distracted by his own conflicting feelings and the new bond growing between the two, the past creeps up on them, determined to finish what was started ten years earlier. A note from the author… I hope you enjoy Frank and Taylor’s story. It’s been a long road to get them settled, but I’m happy with where this story has taken them. When I started this book, the intent was to write a stand-alone story, but that has changed. Characters continually evolve throughout the writing process, and there are several characters in the book that want to tell their story. I’ve grown especially fond of Rory and I can’t wait to write his book, which will take us back to when he first joined the Bureau, and continue on to his happy ever after. Please be advised: This is a May/December romance, and as in life, there are sexual situations that take place prior to the main characters finding their way to one another. This is not gratuitous; it is meant to show character growth and self-realization. There is absolutely no cheating.

Publication Date: February 13, 2017
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance, Holiday

A gorgeous woman, a heart pounding kiss. It should’ve been the start to my new life, but I pushed her away. She deserved better than a wounded warrior, someone who could barely face getting up in the morning. A year later I’ve turned my life around, made myself into a man she could be proud of. A man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. And all I want is a second chance with her.

AnchorNicoleBlanchard

I’ll do anything to save her. A woman I’ve never met, whose name I don’t even know, gambled her own life to protect my child. In return, she was taken by a mad man. I’ll put my career, my security, and my life on the line to get her back, even if it means facing the truth about my own mistakes. The only thing she can’t trust me with…is her heart.

I thought it was just one night with my brother’s best friend. The boy I had dreamt about since he gave me my first kiss, under the lights of the Ferris wheel. I knew he was about to leave for a year – no chance for a future. But our one night together would create memories for a lifetime. Our paths crossed again, but I had lied, and he was no longer the man he once was. He was warring against demons. Against the silence that was threatening to swallow him. And I had kept a secret from him, one he would never forgive me for. But my secret was about to be ripped open. Displayed for the world on national news. And I had only one way to repair the damage. I had to trust the man I lied to. The man I never got the chance to make a life with. The only man who could save what we had created together.

I knew falling in love with him was bad for us both, but I did it anyway. For a brief moment, we had it all. Even though he was leaving to join the Marines and I had four years of college ahead of me, he was everything I ever wanted, but didn’t think I deserved. But real life has a way of dashing dreams—and that happy future we envisioned together? It disappeared at the hands of a monster. Ten years have passed, and I’m not the same naïve girl who believed in happily-ever-afters. When my mother passes away and I find myself caring for my two teenage brothers, the last thing on my mind should be reconnecting with the hottie-turned-hero who I loved at seventeen. If I want a second chance at his heart, I’ll have to trust him with the secrets that tore us apart. Please note there is a graphic scene that may be a trigger for some.

I thought I put my past behind me. I lost everything when I testified against my boyfriend for the murders of five women. After the jury delivered a life sentence, I ran. I hoped if I could disappear, maybe the horror he caused would, too. When I return to Florida for the first time after his conviction, I’m determined to face my fears and get my life back. Then, a woman is murdered and I’m the only one who believes her death features the same signature as those I’m trying so hard to forget. Instinct tells me to run again, but local cop Logan Blackwell has never let a suspect–or a woman–get away. He’s made it his own personal mission to solve the case and he needs my help to do it. I have no choice once we learn I’m the next target, but I’m not interested in getting close to another man, especially not a sexy former Marine who has secrets of his own.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Title: Honor

4 unexpected stars

A beautiful story set during the Christmas holidays that will inspire even the most of the grinches in us to believe in second chances and that a person can change if they truly wish it. Nicole Blanchard’s latest release, Honor, is sure to leave you with butterflies and believing in happy endings for even the most hardened and broken people. Having met Scott in the first novel of the series, Warrior, he finally get his own story when he meets the feisty Faith. After kissing under a mistletoe and not seeing each other for months, Scott tells himself he’ll be a better man to win her heart.

4 breath taking dreams

Together these two were amazing. Even with their faults, they completed one another. Honor was a thrill to read because I got to meet back up with characters I had thoroughly enjoyed in the previous instalments. Even a short novella, there was never a shortage of everything that you look forward to in any book: action, drama, romance and sexyness. I can’t wait to read the next instalment of the series (I do hope there will be more), and see whose story will be next.
