The Rule Maker (The Rule Breakers, #2)The Rule Maker by Jennifer Blackwood
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Title: The Rule Maker
Author: Jennifer Blackwood

Who knew that breaking rules would be so much fun? Jennifer Blackwood has the uncanny ability of throwing in enough humor in a situation that would make any other person feel awkward when faced with a similar opportunity. Many months ago, Ryder and Zoey had a one night stand and without a word, Ryder leaves, making Zoey question herself. Now faced with a new job opportunity, Zoey must try to put aside her feelings and create rules meant to protect herself from being hurt as she comes face to face with Ryder once again. Only, things don't always go as planned when there are some unresolved issues.

Just when you'd think that the story would end on a steady pace, Jennifer Blackwood continuously add twists and turns that I'd never expect, turning what could have been an OK book into something great and entertaining that keeps you wanting to reading more and more. With a touch of sexyness and so much chemistry, I couldn't help but root that they'd make it as a couple albeit all their pain and issues. I absolutely enjoyed The Rule Maker and I can't wait to read more from Jennifer Blackwood in the very near future.

BOOK SUMMARY:

Sometimes the best thing a good girl can do is make a bad decision.

Jessica has always been the girl with her head in the clouds and her nose in a book, only dating the “nice guys”. But when rough-around-the-edges Viking-biker-god, Mad Max, and his precocious little girl move onto her street, Jessica falls hard and fast for both of them.

Max is no stranger to women wanting to share his bed—and he’s always been more than happy to oblige them all. He’s lived wild all his life—that is, until a daughter shows up on his doorstep and he meets a redheaded angel down the block.

There’s nothing more he wants than to claim Jessica as his, to bring the gorgeous spitfire to his bed. But a man like him doesn’t get a happy ending with a woman like her. He’s got a whole other life, one he’s kept secret for good reason.

If Jessica found out what he really is, there’s no way she could love him. He should keep his hands to himself. But he’s Mad Max—he’s never done the right thing, and he’s not going to start now.

Warning: Contains a dominating alpha male who’s a lot more than he seems, and a good girl with a swirl of flavors under her vanilla.

AUTHOR INFORMATION:

Bio: A woman with the heart of a revolutionary, The mind of a pragmatist, And the inappropriate humor of your tipsy BFF... Born in California and raised in South Florida, I've moved around like a gypsy with a bounty on my head ever since. Along the way, I've worked as a community organizer, a professional matchmaker, an art teacher, a popular blogger, and a crisis counselor (to name a few). All the while, longing to have the guts and follow-through to do what I really wanted: to write and become a published author. That wish has finally come true and I am tickled pink with glitter over this good piece of fortune. What else? Hmm...I love indie, lo-fi, complaint rock played on vinyl, wearing black because it's slimming, the theater, well-informed optimism, happy endings (both kinds),and making those close to me laugh 'til they snort. I'm a self-admitted change junkie, loving new experiences and places, but have now happily settled in the cutest lil' town, Vienna, Virginia. I totally love hearing from readers so stalk me via social media or email me at HarperKincaid26@gmail.com!

Girl Breaker (Break on Through, #3)Girl Breaker by Harper Kincaid
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Title: Girl Breaker
Author: Harper Kincaid

Girl Breaker was quite the interesting read, even if I thought that Jessica was at times too innocent, too at odds with what and who Max is. Harper Kincaid is on to something that makes you think twice before making conclusions about someone simply by the first meeting. Who would have thought that the motorcycle club member has an adorable daughter that he needs to take care of, but even with all the dark secrets, he still has a good heart that he hides from everyone. Only Jessica, the romantic at heart, sees what Max hides and can't help but want to help the single dad with his daughter.

This was my first book that I've read by Harper Kincaid and I loved how her characters seem so real- Jessica and Max are hot and sexy together, and every time they meet, sparks fly. Watching this relationship build and strengthen was a delight and I couldn't wait to keep reading. Knowing that Girl Breaker is part of a series, I can't help but wonder what is the link between each of them and I can't wait to find out.
