This Isn’t Fair, Baby
War & Peace Series #6by K. Webster
Publication Date: April 18, 2017
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Dark Romance
The king in my world fell and a new one slid into place.
He wasn’t just.
He wasn’t FAIR.
He was cruel and hateful and twisted.
But I had this black king figured out.
Or so I thought.
The game became complicated because my black king had some new moves and one of those involved my heart. Hope trickled in for the briefest of moments.
That is, until my black king and my heart sided against me. Those two didn’t play FAIR. They used me as their pawn in a bigger game—a game I didn’t know how to play.
The laws changed. I didn’t play by their rules anymore, for the queen makes up her own.
I am not a pawn.
I am not theirs to use and abuse.
I belong to nobody.
There are new players on the board and they don’t play FAIR either. But the white king does know how to treat his queen. And together, they will make them pay.
All’s FAIR in love and war, right?
Definitely not this time.
***Warning***
This Isn’t Fair, Baby is a dark romance. Extreme sexual themes and violence, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. If you are sensitive to dark themes, then this story is not for you.

Title: This Isn't Fair, Baby
Author: K Webster
I'm almost certain that i mentioned it on my last review for this series, but i think that it's important to mention it again: i was late in reading this series. I started with the fifth book and with this one (the sixth), i'm pretty sure that i'm going at it backwards. There is one thing that i'll mention, K Webster's ability to change her penmanship according to her series is astounding and amazing. I can't praise her enough for it because quite frankly, i've read her War & Peace series (which This Isn't Fair, baby is part of), her 2 Lovers series and a few standalones, and not one is the same like the other. With This Isn't Fair, Baby, she pushes the boundaries of dark romances and creates an addictive series that i really can't get enough of... heck, every week i'm counting my pennies to find out if i have enough to buy her previous instalments just so i can truly get the biggest picture of who all the players are and how they evolved. In this novel, we get Vee's story after that Esteban kidnaps her and her mother in the hopes that he can get his hands on Brie. Vee's been in love with Oscar all her life, having had been raised around the brothers every since she met them at the age of 5, having saved a boy from begin killed with band aids her father bought her and giving the boy a stuffed cat to hold in his arms. Too bad that the brothers she grew up with turned into monsters, ready and willing to use her to kill their enemy for taking their home after their father tried to kill Brie... and yes, i do mean Diego (this is why reading each and every instalment is so important, because the stories happen to run from one to the other seamlessly).
After having been kept prisoner by Esteban for so many months and cruelly discarded, used and hurt, Vee isn't willing to be a pawn in the whole grand scheme of things. She
wants it all. She wants to be queen and the only way to be that is to become wife to the king, Diego. Trust me, This isn't Fair, Baby is about to blow your mind. I'll come right out and say it: i didn't really like Diego when i met him in the previous book, but damn... he really is completely different once you get in his head. He's attractive, fair, loving and so protective that you almost forget who he really is. K Webster created a series that has me hooked, line and sinker included, and i can't wait to find out what else is in store. Is the next book really the end? It's almost bittersweet to find that out especially knowing that i just discovered it and only want it to keep going. At least i'll be able to start from the very beginning and fall in love, hurt and hate all over again while i anxiously wait for the end...
