Indigo by Amber Lacie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
One thing you need to know about any of Amber Lacie's books and her writing style is: Expect the Unexpected. Ever since she wrote pretty; , then Breathe, l've always felt as though my heart was being torn apart, put through the grinder and then slowly put back together but in such a way that I felt vulnerable in ways I never expected. So it is no surprise that when I picked up Indigo I went in a bit scared and wondering how many band aids I'd need for my poor heart and how many Kleenex boxes I'd need to hide the tears I'd swear weren't falling down my cheeks. IIn a sense, I both did and didn't need these two things, but that didn't mean I wouldn't want them as I read this newest release.
My heart was ripped to shreds in those two first chapters and then Amber Lacie put it back together piece by piece by using the most unlikely of things: sarcasm and humor. My god! Indigo is one tough nut, bordering on OCD and afrmaphobea, but this woman can dish it out as much as she can receive it. Lex, the broken man whose guilt has been taking over his life for the past 9 years is so awkward that i wish I could have taken him home myself and make him whole again [like a lost puppy? !]
From the moment they started with these horrible pick up lines at the bar, (and how I laughed in my bed amid nearly woke everyone up with that one) Lex and Indie instantly became my all time favorite couple out of all those that Amber Lane has created so far. Oh... and considering, in my opinion, that this book was possibly one of her steamiest so far totally worked in my favor [probably because I'm one dirty bird, LOL], but this author does it in a way that you appreciate it for what it is -chemistry at its best and totally undeniable! To say that I'm looking forward to this author's next release would be an understatement, I'm impatiently waiting on bated breath for what she has to bring to life.
