Her Claim by Rebecca Grace Allen

 

This isn't my first book by this author - truthfully i had read the previous book in this series before getting my hands on Her Claim. Quite frankly, i loved the first instalment to the Legally Bound series. It was captivating, interesting and not at all what i had expected; it was new for me.

I was excited to get my hands on this book - from the joy of having had read His Contract, i was hoping for the same from Her Claim. In this second book we got to revisit the characters from the previous book and had new additions. Cassie is a ball buster - my goodness, rarely do i see women be this strong, be this forward and you know what, it was absolutely refreshing! I loved that part. Then we have Patrick. A man who is undeniably attracted to her (and vice versa), but will never admit it aloud. So what do these two do? They regal themselves to pushing each other's buttons until they can't handle it anymore. That was entertaining as all heck.

Considering the fact that the previous book developed rather quickly, i was hoping for the same thing for the second; only this time the author took her time in slowly building the fire between these two. We got a better look at what was going on between Cassie and Patrick, on how they feel about one another, and what they need from life, from their private life as well. I have to hand it to Rebecca Grace Allen - she truly created a full background and history of these two so that you can find something within each of them that you can relate to.

While Her Claim was very different from His Contract, it's still a book that you need to read at least once to appreciate the true beauty that exists in words. I can't wait to read the next instalment and find out whose story we'll get next because this author can absolutely create something memorable.
