Synopsis
Confession One: I was a klutz.
I thought I’d grow out of it, but evidently I didn’t.
It’s not fun to look like a fumbling toddler when you’re twenty-six.
Confession Two: I had a standing appointment at the local ER.
It wasn’t by choice that I knew all the doctors names—it was necessity.
But that was about to change.
Confession Three: I hated the sun yet I lived in LA where it always shone.
I supposed that was one plus to being sent to New York for the next eight weeks.
That was until I got there.
Arm veins, dimples and, THE sexiest voice known to man were my weakness,
and he had every single one of them.
Confession Four: He was my new boss.
I could control myself though, right?
The city of dreams… a klutz’s worst nightmare.
Eight weeks. A klutz. And a drool worthy boss.
What did you get when you crossed a klutz with a GQ model lookalike?
I was about to find out.

Excerpt
I placed the champagne flute on a table and snatched another one from a server’s tray. I couldn’t remember how many drinks I’d had, but I had a nice buzz going on.
I’d been on my own for the last hour while Axel talked to some new business partners or something or other. I had no idea who they were exactly, just that they could be important.
I didn’t expect to be abandoned as soon as we got here. Especially not after I’d spent the whole day having my hair and makeup done, and definitely not while I was wearing my trusty little black dress. Thank God I’d been able to not wear my sling and only my brace underneath.
I knew a total of one person, and he was currently talking to a woman with legs as long as the stupid skyscrapers in this city. Ugh.
Downing this glass, I then plucked another one off a tray and maneuvered through the crowd and over to Axel. Her hand was pressed against his chest. Any other person wouldn’t see how uncomfortable he was, but I saw the way his eyes crinkled at the corners and the way he tried to step back from her when she leaned toward him. She followed. Of course the crackwhore followed.
Maybe I’d had one too many drinks because the jealous monster was coming forth and there was nothing I could do to stop her. I stepped beside Axel, looking crackwhore right in the eyes. I turned to face him, resting my hand on his bicep and cooed, “Hey, baby,” way too loudly. He frowned down at me with questions in his eyes. Lifting up onto my tiptoes, I whispered, “Go with it if you want to get rid of her.”
He turned his head, his lips centimeters from mine, as his eyes flashed. “Hey.” His arm slid around my waist as he pulled me closer. My glass toppled between us, but neither of us looked away. “Where have you been?”
“I…” I flicked my gaze over to crackwhore, seeing the sneer on her face. Yeah, bitch, you wish you were in these arms.“I had to freshen up.” I bit my bottom lip. “I forgot to wear panties.”
His hand trailed down my back and stopped on my ass where he splayed his warm palm.
“Well, I guess I’ll go and…” I blocked out crackwhore, basking in the feel of him. I heard her footsteps as she walked away, but Axel didn’t let go.
“You’re playing with fire.”
“I’m a pyromaniac.”
His breath quickened, and he yanked me closer as his fingertips dug into my ass. “Careful, Vi. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you wanted me.”
Leaning my head back, I looked up at him as I lifted onto my tiptoes. “Who said I didn’t?”
Great. Now horny Vi had made an appearance.
We both stared at each other, promises being made that shouldn’t be considered. But would it really be so bad? I’d be back in LA soon, and he’d be here. We wouldn’t see each other again, so one night of him ripping my clothes off couldn’t hurt, right?
He ducked his head, took a deep breath, and ran his nose along my neck and up to my ear where he whispered, “You have one chance to tell me you don’t want this. Say it now, because if you don’t, I won’t be able to hold myself back.”
I moaned as he trailed kisses along the soft skin under my ear. “I want this. I want you and your arm veins.”
“My arm veins?” he asked, chuckling but still planting soft kisses along the side of my neck. Could you die from kisses?
“Mmm-hmm.” I traced my fingers along his arm, though I couldn’t see them through his jacket. “I want them.” He pulled back, his dark-blue eyes nearly black as I continued, “I want you.”
I looked around the room, wondering if we could leave right now.
Axel’s nostrils flared when I stepped back and out of his arms. I gave him a coy smile, sunk my teeth into my bottom lip, and sauntered back another step, loving the sexy vibe I was giving off. That was until my foot wobbled. My eyes widened as I imagined a repeat of the bar happening, but I didn’t fall this time. Instead, I was pulled into a pair of strong arms.
“You’re a danger to yourself.”
I laughed. “I know. But you wanna have sex with this danger.”
He chuckled along with me, shaking his head. “What will I do with you?”
I glanced up at him and placed my drink on the table I nearly tripped over. “I can think of many things you can do.” I waggled my brows up and down. “They involve my lady garden and your member.”
He choked out a sound I’d never heard before. “Don’t ever refer to them as that again.” He pulled back, taking my hand and leading me out of the room.
“Channel and rod?” I asked.
His head reeled back as we collected our coats. “Definitely not.”

About the Author
Abigail Davies grew up with a passion for words, storytelling, maths, and anything pink. Dreaming up characters--quite literally--and talking to them out loud is a daily occurrence for her. She finds it fascinating how a whole world can be built with words alone, and how everyone reads and interprets a story differently. Now following her dreams of writing, Abigail has found the passion that she always knew was there. When she's not writing: she's a mother to two daughters who she encourages to use their imagination as she believes that it's a magical thing, or getting lost in a good book. If she's doing neither of those things, you can be sure she's surfing the web buying new makeup, clothes, or binge watching another show as she becomes one with her sofa.
