Unspoken by Kailee Reese Samuels
She always ran to me.
Until he showed up.
For years, I sheltered her under my wing.
For years, I kept her safe.
For years, I loved her without bounds.
But my best friend, he stole my little lamb.
Yet, I'm the one sitting in a cell now.
Not the unkind son of a bitch thief.
Not long, Pretty.
Not long.
Unspoken is a prequel novella to the upcoming Sal Raniero novel, “Hey Pretty.”
Unspoken follows the She/He - A Duet but is standalone.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
There is just something about Kailee Reese Samuels that will force you to pay attention when you read her books. For many, either you'll love her books, or you'll be somewhat ambivalent to them, not your cup of tea. And that, i absolutely respect. Why? Because this author is nothing like i've seen in my entire blogging career. There is no other comparison for her writing style to any other. There is no comparison for her story lines because i've never read a story quite like it. Yes, there are elements that i've read in many other stories, but for them to be all mixed together and not really have a specific genre? Haven't seen that happen so far.
What to say about Unspoken? It's dark. It's bold. And it's that kick in your face to make you realize that not everything is black and white. There are many shades of gray and i'm not talking about the 50 Shades Of Grey. I'm talking about a story that will make your head spin faster than you can process the information - there is Sal, the 'loveable' golden boy that readers have met, read and seen in all of her books, and there are many elements of the SoS series that come back in this book. But this... i can't even adequately describe this book.
It was disturbing. So many subjects discussed felt like we were literally in the mind of a psychopath, and it made sense. I seriously could see an immoral person say half of the things that Red said and did. It was also shocking because here's a side of Sal that you haven't had a chance to see until now, and i'm even counting the number of times i've read this author's books with him in it, going from the masochist, to the Dom and finally to the double agent. It was intense in only a way that Kailee Reese Samuels came make her books.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this author will top this book with her next release, because one thing is for sure - this will be one book that in her career, will be unforgettable.
