22 by Kailee Reese Samuels
You’re gonna go and run, do and play.
And have fun and laugh.
Keep breathing and moving forward.
You’re not gonna give up.
You don’t get that place.
That’s my space – I own it.
I go, and you stay.
We are balanced.
We always have been.
I’m gonna die, but you’re gonna live.
And fall in love, Sal.
Standalone.
There is romance, but no HEA.
Sal Raniero & Kaci Hope say goodbye in their final twenty-two days together. With settings in Sugargrove, Houston, Nola, Barbados, and a few other locales expect lots of kink, heartache, and Sami-stylings.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
There was one thing that Kailee Reese Samuels promised when she wrote 22 – it was to create an angsty novel that will make your heart pound with all sorts of emotions. 22 hit that mark. I knew Kaci’s fate – it was hard not to know when you read the previous published books by this author and not know what’s to happen to this pixie girl, so this book was the goodbye of all goodbyes.
It hurt. It really did. I found myself sniffling more than once and couldn`t even begin to comprehend just where this story was going. Just when you think it`ll be about one single thing – for example, Kaci and Sal enjoying what time they had together and going at it like bunnies when health permitted, it was about redemption. Solidifying bridges that you once thought were burned. And especially about making sure that your loved ones understand that going on in their future is exactly what you want and what they need.
Would I suggest reading the previous books in this series? I truly would because reading Kailee Reese Samuels’ books is like a puzzle. They’re just about everywhere, but they will fit eventually together, even if you can’t see the picture right away. There are four books to this series (the SoS series) and with each instalment, you get a better appreciation of what`s going on between these two. How they became to be who they are and what they will become.
It`s beautiful. It`s heartbreaking. And it`s memorable. This is what this author delivered with 22 and I for one, can`t wait for what`s next from her in the future.
