Santa Has a Huge Sack by Julian Napier
Prepare for all your
childhood dreams to be shit on, this tale isn't a family friendly story
of how Christmas cheer saves the day. It's a tale straight of how one
night the fat guy in the red suit saves a depressed Ice-Cream man from
drinking himself to death by giving him the chance of a lifetime.......
An orgy with Santa.
I really shouldn't need to tell you that this book is weird as f*ck, or that it may offend some people.
I really shouldn't need to tell you that this book is weird as f*ck, or that it may offend some people.
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Oh
hell buckets. What am I supposed to do with this book!?!?!? It`s not
very long, so that isn`t the problem. Neither is the writing style,
because I have to say that that part was engaging and made me chuckle a
few times.
No,
here`s my problem – this is the kind of story that you know was meant
to simply get you to scratch your head in confusion and ask yourself
more than once ‘what the hell am I reading?’ and if that isn`t enough,
you then ask yourself ‘why am I still reading this?’. By the time that
you`re done the story, all you`re asking yourself is ‘why did I just
finish this book??’. This made me think of South Park. You know that
episode where you see Satan in hell with Hitler and all the horrendous
dictators and they`re wearing French maid outfits and getting pineapples
shoved up their yahoos… or was that Little Nicky with Adam Sandler.
Either way, that was hilarious… well, Little Nicky was, South Park, I
can easily pass on it and not feel bad about it, unless it`s Kenny
getting killed, because that is sad.
Anyways,
back to Santa Has a Huge Sack – read at your own peril. Seriously.
You`ll either hate it, or love it because it`s literally the epitome of
reading a book and wondering if you wasted your time doing so, but
realizing that we need books like this to simply let go of reality and
find humor is the dumbest things and realizing that the small things
make life so much better like family, love, laughter, pets, decorating
for Christmas. I`m sure you get my drift by now.
I`m
still reeling from this book – from the time spent reading it and
shaking my head more than once and just wondering if I should just move
on to the next book – but it gets 5 star, because this author did make
me realize one thing: while I love realism in my books in one form or
another, the whole `this is a fiction novel` is exactly that. Fiction.
Books like this make you love the authors behind the book and appreciate
the time and effort they give to writing something that will entertain
you when you least expect it. So kudos to Julian Napier for this… hell,
i`m not even sure what to call it, but i`m sure you`ll find your own
descriptive words for it.
