Blog Tour: What Lies Beneath the Mask
by
Laura Greenwood Dec 12th - Dec 16th
Three years ago, Annabelle escaped from the man that had been abusing and controlling her life from the age of seventeen. Now, Annabelle guards her heart fiercely, from everyone except her best friend, Hayley.
As the assistant director of an amateur performance of the Phantom of the Opera, Annabelle needs everything to be perfect. But when Annabelle starts receiving strange notes and gifts, the true extent of her ex-boyfriend’s obsession begins to make itself known.
Then, there’s Jack; the charming leading man, who’s determined to break through the walls surrounding Annabelle’s heart, even if he doesn’t know why they’re there. Can she let herself trust him? Or will her past continue to haunt her?

Laura is an avid reader and runs a book blog at trips down imagination road, and having always played around with the idea of writing a book, she now has, and has several more in the works!

I love Laura Greenwood's novels and have been since her Alventia series,
which has a new spin on some of my favorite fairy tales. What Lies Beneath The
Mask takes an all too familiar and sad rea;ity of what happens when love is no
longer a beautiful thing and turns into something hurtful and dangerous.
Annabelle ahs lived through all sorts of hell with her now ex-boyfriend and
keeps herself closed off from others to protect herself from more pain. Her
best friend Hayley knows her deepest fears and secrets, and like all amazing
friends, supports her in every possible way, especially when Annabelle meets
Jack, the star of the Phantom of The Opera show. She knows she can't avoid him
as the director's assistant, but how is she to protect herself and him when her
ex starts stalking her?
There's no shortage of drama and suspense throughout this story. Annabelle's issues make it difficult for her to learn to trust Jack as their relationship gets deeper. I loved their dynamic and Jack's perseverance in wanting the best for Annabelle, even protecting her when he could. I have to say that What Lies Beneath The Mask was a surprise and I couldn't have asked for a more realistic couple having to deal with just about anything and struggle like any other. It was emotional and awe inspiring and I can't wait to read more from Laura Greenwood.
