About The Handy Men:

Jack and Dean love each other, but they’re missing the woman to complete their triangle. When newly divorced Paige Richards buys a Bed and Breakfast on Hamlet Island and employs them to help her fix the inn up, Jack and Dean are sure they’ve found the one they’ve been looking for. Despite the playful, sexy clues they drop, luscious Paige is reticent about getting involved, even when they set the stage so she can stumble on them in action. They can tell by her responses she wants to join them, but rumors travel fast on the small island, and tales of a threesome could get back to the conservative, family vacation crowd who won’t patronize those with an alternative lifestyle. And the last thing they want for Paige is the B&B’s rooms…and her bank account…to remain empty. But Jack and Dean will stop at nothing to prove to Paige that she can have it all…with them.

Title: The Handy Men
Author: Jamie K> Schmidt

This was a quick read, the kind that can bridge you until you find that other book that will pique your attention; in fact, it took me only a few hours to finish reading this book by Jamie K. Schmidt, which is my first by this author. While i did enjoy how she took a small town and made them come to terms with their own bigotry, it's the type of insta-love that i wish had taken a bit longer to happen. Jack and Dean are married, bisexual and always missing that one woman that will make them complete. Their friend Paige, recently divorced from the man that cheated on her with his coworker, is building a new bed and breakfast that is certain to make things look up not only for herself, but for the town itself, and they are the perfect handy men to help her restore the home that she purchased. Only, having to answer to her parents after they lend her the money to purchase the place, and her ex husband who seems to think he knows exactly what is best for her, Paige will have to decide if their trio is worth fighting all the judgements and her family.

As much as i enjoyed this story, i wish there was more. There seemed to be missing something, Paige a little too willing to leave when a problem arises, and the men, it felt like, were too comfortable to let others dictate their relationship with Paige. That being said, i did enjoy their trio. It felt genuine, it felt real in the sense that if you were to befriend them, their actions and reactions would be the same as though my friends were going through the same things. There isn't any second guessing in wondering what the outcome would be because even throughout all their problems, there was still something that made them come back to one another, something that made you cheer them on to survive and to make it through all their problems and fix it. I'm sure that i'll be reading more from Jamie K. Schmidt in the future and i'm looking forward to it as well.
