Just when I thought that I knew what the premise of the story would be, M Never comes out and crushes it, turning things around when I least expect it. I thought it was the story of an assassin, trained to be a ghost so no one knows who she or he is, always n the background and never to live life, only to pass through it. Yet, what Ghostface Killer became was something much more than that. It was a story about redemption, second chances, choosing your own destiny and especially if never forgetting your roots but looking forward to the future. Stevie was only 14 when she was caught for the third time pick pocketing the wrong man ~ Benny caught her and with the flick of his finger and wrist changed her destiny with one question ~ would you kill for your own life? Trained by the best, educated by the brilliant, she became his right hand and the best in the business, taught that happiness and love was a weakness, and those were not tolerated. Told to take out a target, she readily takes the job until she looks into his green eyes and she begins to question everything in her life.
Boy was this story hot. It was also heart wrenching because to watch the walls of a human being break and shatter left me reeling, especially when all they have is someone they wish they could trust. Baz And Stevie together are perfect, no matter their history and boy, what a history it is. Did I want this story to end? In no circumstances, but sometimes all good things have to come to an end I suppose. M Never created an amazing story that I won't soon forget and I can't wait for more!
