Heart Of Stone by Camryn Rhys
Not every runaway wants to be found…
Mattie Banfield has been running for years. Casting spells to protect her young son from people who want him dead. The final spell, cast to cover their home, resulted in a horrific accident, killing Mattie’s best friend and her mate, and her own mother in the process. That spell made the White Wood—the only place Mattie Banfield is truly safe.
But it came at a horrible cost.
She lost not only her best friend and her only remaining family, but she left behind her Kindred, all to protect her son’s life.
When William Walker finds Mattie one morning, she does the only thing she can think of…she casts a spell. Will is a dangerous connection to her old life, and could put their child’s life in danger again.
Mattie will not risk Brady’s life again. Not even for the man who calls out her magick…
Book one of the brand new Witches of Whitewood paranormal romance series by Camryn Rhys. The next installment in the Moonbound world. After the Enforcers return from Mexico, they realize the world of magick is so much bigger than anyone thought. The Whitewood Witches are just one element of the giant world of the Moonbound wolves…

Title: Heart Of Stone
Author: Camryn Rhys
I've read books written by Camryn Rhys in the past, then again, they were collaborations that she wrote with Krystal Shannan, whom i absolutely love her books, so Heart Of Stone, the first book in a new paranormal romance, was a first that i've read that was solely written by herself. And i was truly impressed with how much details she put in her book, how much feeling there was and, especially how much action there was even through all the obstacles that her characters had to go through in their journey. Mattie is a mother on the run to protect her son and magic is the only way she's found that keeps him hidden from all those that want him gone and destroyed - an aspect that drew me in. who would want a child killed or even taken? Each time someone comes close to them, she casts a new spell to keep him hidden, so when a man, William, gets too close, Mattie does the only thing that comes naturally to her; cast a spell to simply vanish. Only, something calls out to her about William. Something that even her magic seems to want and need, but her son has to come first, his safety, his happiness, and especially the love that his mother can give him unconditionally.
I was intrigued. I haven't often had the chance to read some really good paranormal lately - the kind that makes you wish that magic, sorcerers, witches and all the dark things that go bump in the night exists. But Camryn Rhys did manage to do so. I loved her new characters, completely different from her Somewhere, Texas series characters and shape shifters, and they made me want to keep reading, to find out more about them. This is the type of novel that will make you want more and more, to read more about the paranormal world that allows authors to let their imagination soar. So one thing is certain, i'll be following this series and Camryn Rhys in the future to find out exactly what's going to happen to her characters..
