Kingpin by Lili St-Germain

The second scorching novel in the USA Today bestselling Cartel trilogy from the smash-hit author Lili St Germain.

They say love conquers all.

It's a lie.

Five days a week, I dressed in smart business clothes. I painted my face, and went to work as an accountant. But nothing about my life was normal.

For eight years I had been the property of the Gypsy Brothers Motorcycle Club. I laundered their money so well they'd never let me leave. My only glimmer of light was the man I loved. The man who had saved me.

Dornan.

His love had been the only thing that kept the demons at bay. But he'd become so immersed in the cartel's brutal business that I hardly knew him anymore.

Dornan had been my salvation, but he was also my undoing.

Would he pull me down into the darkness until he destroyed me? Could I save him?

Did I even want to?

And another bites the dust! And I didn't think I could have loved Kingpin as much as I did Cartel, and yet, I did. Maybe even more so since we're flash forwarded 9 years later after Mariana gave her life for those of her family after her father's epic intake. I don't know what I expected to have happen after this couple expressed their love for one another, but to see that 9 years later things are almost the same way as they were in Cartel was the last thing I expected. Time has fled by our couple but the circumstances and the danger is still very cub present. Mariana is still owned by Emilio, her loneliness when Dornan isn't around threatens to drown her and trust seems to be fleeting as she still guards her secrets close to her heart, the biggest being her son, Luis, now 12.

My skin crawled every time Emilio walked in the room, certain that Mariana must be going through every time she's in a room with him. Each time Dornan and she get together... wow. And then I have to remember the man he will become by the time Juliette grows up. It's difficult to recognize both men in the same body - the man whose heart belongs to the Columbian captive and the man who is colder than ice as the president of the Gypsy Brothers. Another amazing book by Lili St-Germain when it comes to the Ross family and I can't wait to get to the last of the Cartel series to see what will happen.
